and otherwise modified based on client needs
Foundations of Professional Written Communication
This workshop is ideal for groups of professionals who are relatively new to a field, an organization, or the professional world in general, as well as multilingual writers or those who could use a refresher on professional communication expectations.
Narrative Writing for
Organizations
Drawing on nonfiction narratives from in and outside of business, participants in this workshop will gain new strategies and techniques to apply to common narrative workplace genres.
Narrative Writing for
Advocacy
This workshop not only offers writers the tools to find, research, develop, and craft strong, useful narratives to promote change, but also allows participants the crucial time and space to consider the nuances and hurdles of such writing.
Digital and Social Writing for Professionals
This workshop—designed for teams performing all types of digital writing across business, nonprofit, and government spaces—prompts participants to consider, critique and begin to re-envision their organization's digital presences in real time.
Copyediting for non-copyeditors
This workshop is designed for professionals across careers who want to improve their sentence-level writing and produce clearer, more concise, consistent, error-free documents.
Comprehensive Editing
This workshop focuses on editing and revision at a high level, rather than at the sentence level. Participants will gain strategies for editing complex documents with an eye towards organization, argument, audience, and cohesion.
Copy and Comprehensive Editing
This workshop combines the most important elements of high-level or comprehensive editing with key copyediting strategies to offer participants a set of skills to improve documents at every stage of the writing process.
Developing an Organizational Style Guide
Teams will emerge from this active workshop with both an understanding of what makes a strong, effective style or branding guide and also with a living document that they can continue to develop over time.
Clarity and Concision
This workshop focuses on clarity and concision at the sentence level and is appropriate for teams in the workplace struggling to communicate complex ideas—whether by email, report, digital spaces, or any other form of writing.
Building an effective Collaborative Writing Process
Participants will discuss current writing or document procedures, assess them, and ultimately work together to rethink and implement stronger, more beneficial processes that will allow for better work and happier writers.
Building a culture of writing in your organization
This workshop offers leaders the chance to reflect on how communication works—or doesn’t—within their organization. Designed as a facilitated, scaffolded discussion, this session allows leaders at any level of an organization to examine how writing happens and what they can do to improve conditions, processes, and documents.
Diplomacy, Tone, and Voice: Writing in Complex Contexts
In this workshop, we’ll practice striking the right tone and reading our own work critically with an eye towards how our work will be received. We’ll use real-world writing scenarios to talk out challenging writing situations and develop a cadre of strategies to use when we inevitably encounter them.
Grammar Refresher
This workshop not only offers a refresher on both common and advanced grammar and punctuation struggles, but also provides workplace writers a more nuanced and complex understanding of language choices and how they can most effectively make sentence-level decisions to best communicate in the workplace.
