Narrative writing
for organizations
In business, storytelling is often discussed only in the realm of advertising. Yet whether it’s grant or proposal writing, annual reports, corporate histories or other communications, workplace writers must make sense of and construct narratives constantly in their daily work. This workshop addresses questions central to narrative workplace writing, whether that composition takes place in in a nonprofit organization, a corporation or the government: What is compelling? How will the way I frame this story influence my audience’s response? How can I turn dense research or statistical data into an engaging and convincing narrative? Drawing on nonfiction narratives from in and outside of business, participants in this workshop will gain new strategies and techniques to apply to common narrative workplace genres.
