Building a Culture of Writing

in your organization

Regardless of the kind of organization or team you lead, you are managing communicators. Designed as a facilitated, scaffolded discussion, this session allows leaders at any level of an organization to examine how writing happens and what they can do to improve conditions, processes, and documents.

Topics

  • How people develop as writers over time

  • Strategies for providing feedback to communicators in a way that allows them to learn, rather than simply “edit”

  • Formal interventions for improving writing (such as office writing centers and dedicated writing mentors)

  • How to make culture shifts to emphasize the importance of strong, effective communication at all levels of the organization

This workshop typically runs smaller than our standard workshops; we find it works best with anywhere between three and six leaders from an organization.

Duration

Pricing

  • This workshop typically runs in one day: four hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon, with an hour break for lunch.

  • This is a flat fee for each workshop session.

  • The client organization pays this registration fee for each participant attending the workshop.

Each organization is different; if this set of objectives doesn’t quite align with what you’re looking for, let us know. We’re happy to add to, condense, or otherwise modify any of our workshops based on what our client writers actually need.
