About us

Co-founders Brian Fitzpatrick and Jessica McCaughey met as graduate students and new instructors in George Mason University’s English Department in 2008. They bonded over their love of teaching writing and their shared interest in preparing students for the challenges of writing in the professional world.

In 2013, they developed, and still co-direct, the Archive of Workplace Writing Experiences, which contains interviews they’ve conducted with more than 50 professionals across industries about their writing, as well as links to their published research and resources for other teachers.

Through this research and their public writing experiences, Brian and Jessica began to be approached by client organizations in and around Washington, DC, for training, and Golden Line Writing Academy was born. Click here to learn about what makes our approach different.
